Completely agree Coggie - said as much to my brother yesterday as we watched the match.

My first thoughts exactly, on form to date it was McNair's place to lose rather than a default that he'd make way for Jones, Evans or Smalling. McNair looks a natural CB whereas Jones is often caught having to make those recovering tackles which are impressive when they come off but more often than not end up in a free kick.

he seemed to have hurt his knee when he slid at the concrete turf late in the game. I thought it would just be a superficial one. Hamstring injury is very disappointing. arrrrgh.

What I liked about McNair yesterday was that he didn't take on Lukaku in a show of strength he positioned himself so that the opponents strength couldn't be used against him....
I see the Stretford End arising
I see there's trouble on the way
    Don't go out tonight
    Unless you're red and white
I see there's trouble on the way

David De Gea delighted with the Everton win

"It gives you a lot of confidence. It was an important victory for the team and I will always remember it. It was one of the best I've had and most importantly because it ended in victory. There are days when you play a great game but end up not winning. So in that sense, it was a perfect match."
