MANCHESTER UNITED striker Javier Hernandez is an £8m summer transfer target for Serie A big boys Fiorentina.
The Mexico international, nicknamed ‘Little Pea’ only signed a new five-year deal with the club this time last year – but his future is currently in doubt.
Hernandez has slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford since the emergence of Danny Welbeck and the signing of Robin van Persie.
And the Italians hope to take advantage of his growing frustration.
Fiorentina can offer him regular first-team football and hope to qualify for the Champions League next season, despite currently sitting only sixth in Italy’s top flight.
They are also willing to match the 24-year-old’s £80,000-a-week wages and have already sounded out his agent over a possible approach.
Hernandez was coy about his future when asked about it on international duty with Mexico recently, saying: “My challenge is to play and win titles with Manchester United.”
But he could be open to a move if he continues to see his appearances decrease.
So far this season he has started only one Premier League game.
