Manchester United veteran Paul Scholes admits the Red Devils may have to win every remaining game this season to secure the Premier League title.


United narrowly overcame Norwich City on Sunday with a 2-1 victory, as Ryan Giggs scored a stoppage-time winner to mark his 900th appearance for the Manchester club.

Veteran Scholes netted the opener in that game, his second strike since coming out of retirement in January, but the three points still see Sir Alex Ferguson’s side trailing leaders Manchester City by two points.

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck insists he is hungry for the Premier League title and claims that nothing will stop the club achieving back-to-back championships.


The Red Devils sit just two points behind rivals and title challengers Manchester City after narrowly beating Norwich City on Sunday, with veterans Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs grabbing both goals for United.

Welbeck has been a pivotal player for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side this season after being handed first-team opportunities by his manager, scoring nine goals in total.

When Danny Welbeck was the star of the youth teams at Manchester United, at every age group, the coaches at the club were concerned that his physical size gave him an advantage that would never be reflected in first-team football.

They were worried that he might not make the grade as a Premier League player but now, at 21, he has already established himself as a key member of the United squad and is on course to fulfilling the “great future” predicted for him by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Such has been his ascent since returning from a loan spell at Sunderland last season, Welbeck is likely to get a chance to make his mark on the international stage when England face the Netherlands at Wembley on Wednesday.
