[14] Rednapp still thinks Spurs will have a good season finish .. and how third has become pole position

“We’re still in pole position although that 10-point lead has suddenly become four points,”

“We’ve got some hard games coming up, we go to Everton and we’ve got Chelsea away – so we’ve got some tough games to come.

“But I still feel we and go on a run and I still fancy us to finish third.”

United's flag is deepest red, it shrouded all our Munich Dead

Till their limb's grew stiff and cold, their heart's blood dyed its every fold. So raise United's banner high, under its shade we'll live and die. Keep the faith and never fear, we'll always fly the red flag here. We'll never die, we'll never die, we'll never die, we'll never die. So keep the red flag flying high, cause Man United will never die.

[15] Ferdinand is chuffed to see Young back ... and not just because of his goals

“It is fantastic to see Ashley back,”

“He has been injured and it takes you a couple of games to get back into the groove. Before his injury he was flying and now it looks like he is back into form.

“It wasn’t just his goals it was his all-round work ethic. He was helping Patrice Evra as well. He was doubling up and helping and when you have a dangerous player like Aaron Lennon that is great.”

[17] Spurs Ledley King on concentration, concentration and errr ... concentration

"It's tough to take because I thought for the majority of the game we gave a good account of ourselves,"

"But if you fall asleep at vital times you will get punished.

"We conceded the first goal at a bad time. That was disappointing, a free header in the six-yard box shouldn't be happening.

"We tried to regroup, tried to come out and perform again, tried to lift ourselves, and we did that, but went to sleep on a throw-in."

"You won't beat teams like United unless you are fully concentrated for the full 90 minutes, and that was a bit of a lesson,"

"You can't fault our work-rate but it's those moments that make all the difference."

[23] Rio on not dropping points when everybody expected us to

"It was a huge win for us because this was one of the games people probably expected us to drop points in,"

"It is tough stadium to play at and Spurs are a very good team now, so we had to come and produce a good performance. I thought our performance was very professional.

"At half-time, the manager told us to go out and play a bit better than we had done in the first half because we hadn't really played at all. It was more or less a backs-to-the-wall display in the first half but we nicked a goal before half-time and set ourselves up for the second half."

More Alex Ferguson praise for David De Gea's saves

“Fantastic save, absolutely brilliant, and that’s the kind of save that the boy’s capable of making. He did it last week at Norwich, made two or three great saves then. He’s done it again.”

Rio Ferdinand on the defence handling Spurs

“When they play two big lads like Adebayor and Louis, you have to make sure you defend right to come away with anything. Jonny played really well again and the whole team defended well. David De Gea is making good strides in goal. He is learning. He wants to be a better keeper and that is vital in a young player.”

Harry Redknapp on Spurs getting the better of Scholes and Carrick but losing

"I couldn't believe we came in 1-0 down. It was everything we worked on during the week, Jake Livermore and Sandro were top class. Really there was only one team who should have been in front at half-time and we came in 1-0 down. I couldn't have asked more from the players. Sometimes you need the luck and we didn't get any. There was nothing much we could change, the two lads dominated against Scholes and Carrick. We just needed a break but when you're 2-0 down thinking you have bossed the game, mentally it's difficult."

Alex Ferguson on Jonny Evans and Rio Ferdinand at Spurs

"They were brilliant. I don't know how many headers they got out, cleared up during the game - it was fantastic. And you need that. Last year, it was the same when we came here and Vidic and Ferdinand were brilliant, also, knocking them away. We've got to realise - and I think we do - that to come here and get that result is really first class."

Ashley Young on his two goals and title race

"I think I am getting back to my best again now. Any player when he is injured is disappointed and I needed to get myself back fit and raring to go again. Now I am champing at the bit. I just want to play every game now. I enjoyed my goals at Tottenham. The first was a quick throw in by Jonahto get Nani away and he has pulled it back and it looped up to the far post. I just had one thing in my mind and that was to get a volley on target and it has gone in for me. The second I really enjoyed. I found a bit of space and I saw the gap appear in the far corner and I bent it towards it and luckily for me it has gone in for me. We have to keep pegging City back. I think we are going to have to win every game. Every game is going to be tough from now on. Any time they slip up and we can get a bonus from that then we will. But we have to concentrate on ourselves.”
