    Default Evra again

That goal sums him up for me, totally unaware, no sprint to try and make up for it. He's more than a liability

No I won't. Been saying it for too long. He's slow to get back into position, shows no hunger, every team we play against targets him down our left. The 3-3 game with Basel at OT was one of the most complacent performances from a player I've ever seen.

Stand up for him, fine. But you can't defend what everyone else can see

Suit yourself. He had a good game apart from being out of position for the goal but don't let that get in the way of your opinion will you.

What good is playing well for 88mins then switching off? It's not just that he switched off, it's the fact he made no effort other than a jog to try and get back and redeem himself. Keane slated him for it too saying he's seen it too often with Evra in big games.

Ill stand by my opinion yes because it's something I pointed out 2 years ago now and it annoys melt be totally honest!

    Footballs all about opinions mate!

Yeah but some how every thread I read you in yours always has to be right. You keep coming back and coming back.

If your expectation is that very player should be able to play well for 90 minutes then your a difficult person to please and if by jumping on the one mistake to try and prove your point over 2 seasons is your standard then god help the rest of the squad they all make mistakes.

Evra had a hard time today at klanfield and wore the captains armband again with dignity. He has been a loyal servant to the club and yea he makes mistakes and often gets caught out of position. Probably more often by being to narrow as opposed to today's fuck up.

Just out of interest have you also been saying Carricks been a liability for 2 years? If so I can predict your next thread next time he fucks up.

I dont think carrick is a liability no, he's very inconsistent but at least gives 100%, something I don't think Evra has done enough over the last 2 years.

I don't expect flawless performances no but if Evra isn't showing the desire to get back, and repeats that lack of urgency, then yes I will comment on it.

Keane and Inces views on him:

Summarising the game on ITV, Keane was typically blunt about United's defensive failures:

"Poor goals from United's point of view; absolutely shocking.

"I've seen [Patrice] Evra in a lot of big games and I think he gets caught out alot. [For the winning goal] He should've tucked in a bit when he saw Carroll going up for it; expect Carroll to win it - he's 6"4!"

Ince, who memorably scored a crucial 89th minute equalising goal FOR Liverpool against United in 1999, argued that a draw would've been 'a fair result', and also identified Evra as a weak defensive link:

"The second half became a little bitty; nothing was really going on, but it was just schoolboy defending from United. getting into the right position is something that Evra should know about.'

Eve's doesn't give 100% commitment. That's the last thing you can accuse him of. Since the day he joined let alone the last 2 years you keep banging on about.

Carrick inconsistent. He's been consistently our best player all season or do you disagree.

Why not ask incy and keane. See what they say as your so fond of the opinion of ex bitter mongs.

Ex bitter months? Would love to have keane is this team telling some home truths - keane, a mong! Classic!

I think carrick has been good, he can be inconsistent though and have games where he goes hiding, I honestly don't know who's been consistently our best player to be honest with you, carrick is probably one of them though I agree.

All I would like to see from Evra is what we see in Rafael - hunger, enthusiasm, snapping into tackles. When he joined he was like that but I do think he's lost a bit of that enthusiasm/hunger.

That's just getting old comes to us all.

Ferguson was asking for less of that from de silva this week as it makes him mire injury prone, more likely for a booking and a bit of a liability. I added the last bit :-)
